From our friends at Hickory Creek Farm:

This letter is bittersweet to write! Steve and I have decided to retire from the pumpkin business after almost 25 years! Everyone keeps asking us if we’re sad. Our backs are definitely NOT going to miss all the work, but we ARE going to miss all the wonderful people like you who have blessed us beyond description by coming out to Hickory Creek Farms to enjoy Fall with us!

I’ve absolutely LOVED filling our barn up with students who have come out for field trips! What FUN teaching them how pumpkins grow from a seed to a grownup pumpkin! Will I ever miss them! We want to end our orange legacy by providing a service to all our wonderful teachers who pour so much into our kids and who’ve been so faithful in bringing them to our farm over the years! I’ve created a YouTube channel called “Born in a Barn” and posted my educational pumpkin “barn talk”. They can access it there and give their students a virtual field trip to the pumpkin patch since Covid is preventing many from going in person! The link is www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOewWYuC5BY. So please let all your teacher friends know about this free resource!

I hope my YouTube channel will be a fun site for YOU too! I’m having a ball creating short little farm talks for kids that not only teach them about the farm, but also point out a few life lessons along the way. Be sure to “like” and “subscribe” so you won’t miss any upcoming teaching tidbits!

Thank you so much for your love and support throughout the years!

Happy Fall!
